1.1 Project: Forecasting Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) for Florida’s Economic Regions Description: Future personal vehicle travel and truck travel is modeled for Florida’s thirteen economic regions. 2001 NHTS data for trip rate, trip length and mode share is used and regressed along with population and density distribution by region to forecast the future travel behavior. Tasks: •Assisted and provided the team members data, after analyzing, pertaining to the Settlement Density for Florida’s defined economic regions by census tracts. •Used GIS software to arrive at the land area and population data at the tract level after deducting the protected and water area. •Settlement density by specified density ranges were calculated for each Florida Region. •This density data was used to model the base density coefficients and estimate the forecasted density for the regions. 1.2 Project: Advanced Vehicle Market penetration, Vehicle survivability and Alternative Fuel Use impact on Emission and Revenue Description: AEO 2007, Vision 2007 model, NHTSA and some other analysis results were used for various scenarios to interpret the fleet volume by model year, alternative fuel use and advanced vehicle market penetration and their impact on emission in carbon equivalent and revenue. Tasks: •Analyzed the Vision model and Annual Energy Outlook data set to interpret various advanced technology and fuel efficiency scenarios. •Analyzed vehicle survivability and consequently fleet size based on regression analysis of percent vehicles surviving by age dataset. •Estimated emission results based on different available scenarios. 1.3 Project: Florida Urban Mobility Report 2007 Description: Based on TTI Urban Mobility report, key mobility measures for seven major urban areas of Florida State were identified and analyzed. Congestion cost in terms of delay per traveler and extra fuel purchased were projected. Solutions to these problems were pointed out. Tasks: •Determine the congestion cost in the form of travel delay and excess fuel consumed for seven major urban areas of Florida. •Evaluate the savings due to suggested solutions to congestion problems like operational treatment and public transportation. •Preparing report for Florida Urban Mobility.--
