Operator of bogus IT consulting firm sentenced to prison

U.S. District Judge James Moody sentenced Ravinder Reddy Allala to 40 months in federal prison for visa fraud and conspiracy.

Laconia Associates Inc., a Tampa information technology consulting firm and employee leasing company operated by Allala, submitted fake H1B visa applications for Indian nationals between 2006 and 2010, a statement from the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida.

According to myvisajobs.com, Laconia Associates Inc has filed 643 labor condition applications for H1B visa and 41 labor certifications for green card since 2001, ranked 603 among all visa sponsors.
