Job Duties and Responsibilities: ? Performs Hematologic determinations (Automated and Manual Microscopic Evaluation), ABO and Rh Typing, Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate, Coagulation Tests (PT & APTT), Staining for Peripheral Smear Evaluation, Malarial Smear and LE Preparation, Staining of Bone Marrow Smear ? Performs quality control ? Prepares reagents and stains needed Clinical Chemistry ? Performs Quality Control, Routine Blood Chemistries, Cardiac Markers, Special tests on other body fluids, Point of Care Testing (i.e Arterial Blood Gas determination) ? Prepares reagents needed Immunochemistry ? Performs special tests for tumor markers and thyroid function tests ? Performs quality control and prepares reagents needed Serology ? Performs serologic test such as RPR, HBsAg, Anti-HCV, Salmonella Typhoid IgM & IgG Antibodies Test, Dengue Ag-IgG/IgM Antibodies Test, Syphilis Test Clinical Microscopy ? Performs Routine Urinalysis (Chemical and Microscopic Examinations) and Fecalysis, Identification of Intestinal Parasites and Intestinal Protozoa, Crystals and Casts, Total Cell Count and Differential Count of Body Fluids, Sperm Identification, Smear for Trichomonas Identification, Micral Test, Pregnancy Test, Occult Blood Test, Concentration method and Kato-Katz & Kato-Thick Method ? Performs quality control and prepares reagents needed Microbiology ? Prepare culture plates and materials needed to perform specimens of: blood, CSF, Body fluids, Sputum, Tracheal Aspirate, Throat swab, Wound culture, Abscess, urine, vaginal discharge, urethral discharge and stool. ? Perform smear preparation for: Gram stain, Acid fast stain, Potassium hydroxide wet mount, India ink wet mount and Sputum acid fast stain. ? Perform Blood Culture Blood Bank ? Performs Compatibility testing and Coomb’s Test ? Performs ABO and Rh typing Phlebotomy ? Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture or heel or finger stick with precautionary measures against infection and contamination in a timely manner ? Performs clotting time and bleeding time--
