Experiences:

Technical Specialist 06/2013 - current
Secretaría Técnica del Mar, Guayaquil, Guayas Ecuador
Industry: Ocean engineering, ocean management
Involved in the coordination of Ecuador's project for the extension of the submarine continental shelf according to the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in order to re-draw the national boundary seawards based on underwater bathymetric, geological and geophysical studies.
--
Oceanographic Researcher 08/2012 - 05/2013
Instituto Oceanografico de la Armada del Ecuador INOCAR, Guayaquil, Guayas Ecuador
Industry: Research Government
Work on the development an early warning system that determines risks of ocean origin to Ecuador’s coastline by implementing a wave model simulating waves nearshore (SWAN) and a monitoring system which included directional wave buoys
--
Research Engineer 08/2010 - 09/2011
BlueView Technologies, Seattle, WA United States
Industry: Ocean Engineering
Enhance the 3D state-of-the-art mechanical scanning systems to be used for applications in underwater spool piece metrology applications delivering accurate measurements using sonars to oil and gas customers.
Successfully conducted dry dock tests in Aberdeen, Scotland demonstrating acceptable accuracies of sonar systems as required by underwater spool piece metrology customers Conducted acceptance tests on sonar data acquisition interface and found software source code improvements. Researched, tested and implemented reference targets which are essential for underwater surveys and measurements of large areas using sonar systems. Participated as the project manager in the software design that automatically calibrated sonar equipment. Authored reports and application documents used as standards for sonar data collection.--
Graduate Research Assistant 08/2008 - 05/2010
Florida Atlantic University, Dania, FL United States
Industry: Research and Development
Conduct research, manufacturing and testing of a next generation surface piercing propeller test stand. Flow visualizations analysis of the wake generated by a surface piercing propeller.
Designed components, fabricated and tested functionality of next-generation surface-piercing propeller test apparatus. Learned manual and computer numerical control (CNC) machining during fabrication process. Led in-water tests and image acquisition of a surface piercing propeller performance, Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ. Designed algorithm that measured parameters on images of the wake created by a surface piercing propeller.--
