Description and Related Actions:: Provide, on a 24/7 basis, professional and accurate verbal and written translation services to all military and civilian clients throughout the entirety of the UNIFIL Mission Area, in connection with the mandated activities under UNSCR 1701. Related Actions: 1.1 Accompany members of the Client Battalion or Unit during foot or vehicular patrols and during CIMIC or liaison engagements and provide concise, impartial and accurate interpretation services while acting solely in the interests of UNIFIL and at the direction of the client at all times. 1.2 Assist the client with the recording of meeting minutes, the writing of summary notes and the completion of any related correspondence and reports, pertaining to the clients’ mandated activities, strictly within the wider context of UNIFIL, and not TCC or National Interests alone, as well as mandate related incoming/outgoing correspondence. Success Criteria: 1.1.1 Language support are tailored to meet the needs of the clients, on 24 hr. 7 days a week basis in the specified language and positive feedback is consistently received from all LSU Clients. 1.2.1 Language support is provided in a timely manner, within agreed deadlines, whilst ethical codes are maintained to protect the confidentiality of information. Description and Related Actions: Provide effective and timely language assistance in support of the Clients’ liaison actions related to their activities as mandated under UNSCR 1701. Related Actions: 2.1 On the specific request of LSU Clients, engage local officials and/or other individuals to arrange/coordinate meetings and other such consultations. Success Criteria: 2.1.1 Official meetings are coordinated and all attendant interpretation and/or transcription assistance to the client is provided in connection therewith. No individual engagement with any local person or persons is initiated, rather acting solely at the direction of the client. Description and Related Actions: Support the efforts of LSU Clients by facilitating their understanding of local issues and provide background information which has a bearing on the activities of the client as explicitly mandated under UNSCR 1701. Related Actions: 3.1 Contribute to the capacity of LSU Military and Civilian Clients to become adequately sensitized to local history, customs and traditions.
