This was a remote job. The main responsability was the maintanance and evolution of the Enterprise E-commerce platform.
I accepted this challenge to increase my professional experience and being in touch with new technologies. M-exchange's mainly business is to offer a personalized e-commerce platform for its clients. The system is a Single Page Application that uses Jquery and JavaScript for the front-end and Spring Framework for the server side. I improved my knowleged on Spring MVC and how to use it to build REST services. In additon the system used Hibernate JPA provider and Oracle 11g as RDBMS. The work tasks used to be sent by a Technical Leader in JIRA and we used to have weekly meetings for report. Most of the tasks involved doing changes in the database as creating new tables and removing other ones. One time I had to develop a report solution so the user could pick up the columns for the report and also define some filters. To solve this necessity I created a module where the user could define the columns and also create the filters for the report query. After the report was created by the user it was processed by a background service that was responsible to execute the report query and generate an Excel file and send it by e-mail to the user. As the system is a Single Page Application was common to use JavaScript and Jquery to create HTML content and also calling REST services (GET, POST, PUT and DELETE) with JSON objects and callback functions. ? After three years experience with the IVR platform I received my new challenge - mantain the Client's Portal. Built upon the Java Platform the Portal was used by clients to access a variety of services. During my time with the Portal I had the opportunity to create SOAP Web Services to integrate with backend systems. I also was in touch with LDAP repository managing the roles and permission used by the security layer to autorize user's access to services. The system's front-end used JSP with Struts Framework. Responsible for developing and maintanance of Client Server applications and support the Company's IVR Platform.
This is my first position. My first challenge was to mantain the existing IVR platform. The Company's IVR platform is a mission critical system supporting incoming calls from clients and insurance brokers. As I accepted the challenge I experienced Visual Basic language and also Informix DBMS. After some time I receive my second challenge, I needed to rebuild the entire IVR platform using a new approach. In this project I got involved in all development lifecycle from design, testing and deploy in production. I created a new platform where was possible to build new IVR applications just using parameterized configuration. The new approach contributed to reduce time and effort to create new IVR applicaton. I was in touch with technologies like Sybase Power Builder, Visual Basic, XML, XSLT.
