- The worst company with false promises - - - 12/27/2017 - flag as inappropriate - comment
This is worst employer who will provide false promises, and internally they will do lot of hidden politics to manipulate promises.

Instead of working here, its good to work as a independent consultant, at least you will be self honored.

CTS claims that they are american, the truth is far from it. A majority of their workforce or on H1B. They exploit and are ruthless. They will promise you everything to snare you. Once you are in their trap, tough to get out.

If your contract ends, you are in their bull eye. Start packing your bags. I should have done my homework.

Your story is not so much fake resumes, it is more of a textbook example of how BOTH employers and vendors are exploiting H-1B workers. Your client was just as much in on that as the vendor was, so don't believe anything they tell you.

Your scenario is the typical one...the vendor will bring in an Indian national under a fresh H-1B and place him at a client. The employer gets a cheap worker, and the vendor gets a hefty margin to cash in on because most freshers out of India are completely clueless when it comes to negotiating their rates and benefits, they end up working for peanuts. After 3-4 years, if things go well, they will pretend to file your "green card" by initiating a PERM labor certification on your behalf. In reality, however, they have no intention of actually following through with this, they just do it to motivate you to stay put, because they don't want the client hiring you out from under them. Concurrently, as you approach your 6-year cap, they suddenly bring in a "new guy" and ask you to help train them up. Once they are up to speed, suddenly you are sent packing back to India by the vendor under the guise of a "layoff", and the client moves on to the next H-1B guy that they start the whole cycle over with. They deliberately time everything so both the vendor and employer can exploit your entire 6-year stay in the US, and walk a very fine line with doing just enough with your rate and green card to keep you from shifting to another company.

This is why most non-AILA non-IT American Citizens that do not benefit from this exploitation are actually vehemently opposed to employment-based immigration reform. It is not because the country does not need highly-skilled workers, it is because the majority of people being brought in from India under the H-1B program are not actually skilled.
Big corporations - 3/25/2016 - Guys you all are missing the fundamental concept. Also I am not against to H1-b nor any community/ corporation.

1.Big corporations like work done for cheap rates , also they like plenty of resources to be avilable in the market so that they can keep the wages in control. [ thats why there is a lobby for increasing H1-B ,giving EAD to H-4 etc]

2.About faking resumes and freshers showing up at client place etc ,do you think the client doesn't know about this.if you talk to a guy for 10 min you can tell him if he is fresher.

3.since most IT projects have reached maturity/maintenance and can be done by a fresher ,they try to replace. And companies do to make profits and please the share holders.

4.Overall what I am trying to tell is ,without the Big companies co-operation middle vendors cant do the business of freshers/faking resumes. - flag

- Pathetic HR dept - - - 6/2/2014 - flag as inappropriate - comment
The recruitment process is so unprofessional.I was made an offer, I got a RFE for my visa transfer and they took more than 2 months to respond to it. There was absolutely no clarity on start date or the future of the offer. Finally, they responded & the visa was denied. I was not even provided the info with the reason for denial and on contacting the HR resource/dept - They did not take any ownership and left me hanging. I am still trying to get the reason for denial without which it is very difficult to proceed further.
Please be aware of their HR dept. It is so unprofessional.
      - 6/5/2014 - They did the same thing to me during the same period of time. Got RFE and no one replied and finally they withdraw the H1B after 3 month, - flag

- CT Contractors replacing American employees - - - 5/6/2011 - flag as inappropriate - comment
Cognizant Technology employees come as consultants at less than half the price that an American citizen is paid and work through the politics in the company, create animosity with the permanent employees and take over American jobs - and we wonder what is causing the rate of unemployment in the US to rise!!!

Most of the employees have very little knowledge of the work they are do, but hey they are paid $20-30 per hour so why not. Local companies are so awed by the cost that they tend to overlook the quality. The upper management "talks the talk" and "walks the walk" and people so impressed that they don't realize the quality of the work is going downhill. How many of these employees have the right qualifications to do the work they are doing? Ever wondered about that before visas are issued. Why are visas issued so liberally when Americans are sitting at home and contributing towards the downfall of the economy?

shashikanth reddy - 1/4/2013 - One things, Cognizant only sends the most valuable professionals to US, as a employee of cognizant i have seen this, and most of them who are sent to US especially from india have more than 3 years of genuine experience and Team Leads and higher level professionals are processed for visas, those who can handle teams in onsite and even offshore. This is a true fact.

Its not about the no of hours which they work, when there are deliverables definitely one has to work and deliver the work for that it may take 10-12 or even 16 hours. - flag
      - 6/3/2013 - Cognizant Technology solutions is the worst company to work with - flag
      - 6/3/2013 - Managers think they are gods. HR hears only the management team not the fellow workers. You have to be bonded slave. Dont ask for anything . Just work and get frustated. You will be paid double triple amount of salary for the same amount experience in every other company. If you have option dont even ever opt for this consultancy. Its only a big name but inside truly is hell - flag

- Its just a body shop with the face of American MNC. - - - 2/22/2011 - flag as inappropriate - comment
CTS (Cognizant Technology Solutions) is a biggest outsourcing company of US. The H1B and Green Cards that it has sponsered till date tell you the whole story. Employees need to work long hours( 10 to 12 hours on an average). Doesn't pay for all the claimed hours. See the discrimination it's showing against other nationalities in offering the employment.
