If you've just been pulled from the bay like an old empty crab trap, Johns Hopkins Bayview might be the first place you're taken. One of five member institutions in the Johns Hopkins Health System, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is a community teaching hospital. Its Baltimore-based operations include a neonatal intensive care unit, as well as centers devoted to trauma, geriatrics, sleep disorders, weight management, and burn treatment. The facility includes a meditation labyrinth for patients, families, and staff to walk. Established in 1773, the medical center has more than 700 beds.

Note: This page reports Labor Condition Application(LCA) and Labor Certification(LC) filed by Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions for H1B Visa and Green Card. The data only indicates the number of applications filed by Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. It does not mean that Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions actually got the visa and hired the workers.
Labor Condition Application(LCA) is different from Labor Certification(LC). LC is for employment based green card while LCA is for H1B visa. Our LCA data not only includes those filed for new h1b visa applications, but also those for H1B Visa tranfer and renew.
Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions applied for 3,216 LC and LCA since 2001. But this does not mean they really hired 3,216 foreign workers during this period. The visa application might have been denied. When the employee renew or transfer their H1B Visa, they will also file a new LCA application. Department of Labor(DOL) typically certifies more than 3 times the number of foreign work requests than the number of H-1B visas issued by USCIS. So there is no one to one relationship between the number of workers certified by the DOL and the number of H1B work visas issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
