Novant Health is a not-for-profit health system in North Carolina. Formed in 1997 by a merger of Carolina Medicorp, Presbyterian Healthcare System, and Thomasville Medical Center, Novant serves more than 3 million people in more than 30 counties across North and South Carolina and Virginia. The system includes nine hospitals (with more than 2,500 beds), three philanthropic foundations, two nursing homes, more than 230 physician clinics, rehabilitation and community outreach programs, and surgical and diagnostic outpatient offices. Labor Condition Application(LCA) is different from Labor Certification(LC). LC is for employment based green card while LCA is for H1B visa. Our LCA data not only includes those filed for new h1b visa applications, but also those for H1B Visa tranfer and renew.
Novant Health, Inc applied for 47 LC and LCA since 2001. But this does not mean they really hired 47 foreign workers during this period. The visa application might have been denied. When the employee renew or transfer their H1B Visa, they will also file a new LCA application. Department of Labor(DOL) typically certifies more than 3 times the number of foreign work requests than the number of H-1B visas issued by USCIS. So there is no one to one relationship between the number of workers certified by the DOL and the number of H1B work visas issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
