What do President George W. Bush, writer William F. Buckley Jr., and actress Meryl Streep have in common? They are all Yalies. Yale University is one of the nation's most prestigious private liberal arts institutions, as well as one of its oldest (founded in 1701). Its $18 billion endowment ranks second only to Harvard's in the US. Yale comprises an undergraduate college, a graduate school, and 10 professional schools. Programs of study include architecture, law, medicine, and drama. Its 12 residential colleges (a system borrowed from Oxford) serve as dormitory, dining hall, and social center. The school has more than 11,500 students and some 3,300 faculty members. More from Hoovers »

Note: This page reports Labor Condition Application(LCA) and Labor Certification(LC) filed by Yale University for H1B Visa and Green Card. The data only indicates the number of applications filed by Yale University. It does not mean that Yale University actually got the visa and hired the workers.

Labor Condition Application(LCA) is different from Labor Certification(LC). LC is for employment based green card while LCA is for H1B visa. Our LCA data not only includes those filed for new h1b visa applications, but also those for H1B Visa tranfers and renews.

Yale University applied for 3,911 LC and LCA since 2001. But this does not mean they really hired 3,911 foreign workers during this period. The visa application might have been denied. When an employee renews or transfers his H1B Visa, he will also file a new LCA application. Department of Labor(DOL) typically certifies more than 3 times the number of foreign work requests than the number of H-1B visas issued by USCIS. So there is no one to one relationship between the number of workers certified by the DOL and the number of H1B work visas issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
