Highlights:Being nominated as BBC's most inspirational women in 2023 was a true honor and a highlight of my career as a journalist. It was a humbling recognition of the hard work, dedication, and impact that my reporting has had over the years, particularly in shedding light on important issues and inspiring others to take action. My coverage of the Syrian refugee crisis and the Arab revolutions in 2011 was a significant part of my career journey, and it taught me the importance of storytelling in giving voice to marginalized communities and shedding light on human rights abuses. I traveled extensively to the region, often putting myself in harm's way to get to the heart of the story and bring it to the world. During those years, I witnessed firsthand the resilience and courage of people who were fighting for their rights and their dignity, despite facing incredible challenges and danger. I was inspired by their stories, and I was determined to share them with the world in a way that would move people and spur action. My work during those years not only earned me recognition and respect within the industry, but it also had a real impact on the ground. I received messages from people who had been touched by my reporting and who had been inspired to take action themselves. That, to me, is the true measure of success as a journalist.

Goal:To become a newsroom editor or news director, overseeing the editorial content of a media outlet and leading a team of reporters and editors to produce high-quality and engaging journalism. Another possible career goal could be to specialize in a particular area of reporting, such as investigative journalism, environmental journalism, or political reporting, and become a recognized expert in that field. Additionally, a senior journalist with 8 years of experience could aim to become a media consultant or start their own media company, using their skills and expertise to help other media outlets produce quality content or to create their own innovative media projects.
