✅ Good News: OPT Auto Extension!
F-1 students with valid Optional Practical Training (OPT) who have timely filed H-1B Cap petitions will now receive an automatic extension of their employment authorization until April 1, 2026 (or until the start date of the approved H-1B petition, whichever comes first).
In previous years, the Cap-Gap automatic extension only lasted until October 1st, marking the start of the fiscal year. This extended timeline offers more stability and flexibility for students transitioning to H-1B status.
