Overview

Update(5/19/26): In fiscal year 2026, Caterpillar filed 111 LCAs for H-1B visas, 12 labor petitions for green cards, and 28 requests for prevailing wage determination.

Important Update(12/16/2025): We’ve recently added H-1B visa approval and denial history from USCIS(2017–2025) and H-1B visa petition locations to provide a more complete view of employment-based immigration. Previously, our data included only Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) certified by the U.S. Department of Labor.
For example, in fiscal year 2025, Caterpillar filed 291 Form I-129 petitions for H-1B visas. Of these, 286 were approved and 5 were denied.

Caterpillar, Inc. filed 368 labor condition applications (LCAs) for H-1B visas and 77 labor certifications (LCs) for green cards during fiscal year 2025. Caterpillar was ranked number 140 among all visa sponsors. Additionally, 4 LCAs were denied or withdrawn during the same period.

Before Caterpillar can hire foreign workers, whether permanently or temporarily, it must submit labor certifications to the Department of Labor (DOL). These certifications confirm compliance with wage requirements for the specified job locations. The reports below summarize Labor Condition Applications (LCA) for H-1B visas and Labor Certifications (LC) for green cards filed by Caterpillar. This data represents only the number of applications submitted and does not guarantee visa approvals or worker hires.

The LCA data includes applications for various purposes: new employment, continuation or changes to previously approved employment, new concurrent employment, changes in employer, and amended petitions. Typically, only LCAs for new employment require an H-1B visa cap if the employer is not cap-exempt.For example, Caterpillar submitted 689 LCAs and LCs during fiscal year 2025. However, this figure does not necessarily reflect the number of foreign workers hired, as visa applications can be denied. Additionally, employees renewing or transferring H-1B visas or changing work locations may need to file new LCAs.

The DOL generally certifies more than three times the number of foreign worker requests compared to the H-1B visas issued by USCIS. Therefore, there is no direct correlation between the number of workers certified by the DOL and the H-1B visas issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

* Why are the numbers different? LCAs are a prerequisite to filing H-1B visa petitions, but not all certified LCAs lead to actual H-1B filings. Similarly, one LCA can support multiple visa petitions (e.g., for extensions, amendments, or changes in employer). Therefore, visa totals may differ significantly from LCA totals.
Moreover, employers sometimes use different names when submitting LCAs and H-1B visa petitions. This can cause discrepancies in our system. To get a complete and accurate picture, please use the search function to explore both LCA and visa data.
Total H-1B includes all types of visa petitions: new employment, continuation, change of employer, as well as other actions not listed in the table, such as concurrent filings and amendments.

★☆☆☆☆ - NO NO for immigrants - - - 9/23/2013 - flag as inappropriate - comment
THe immigration team is extremely rude, incompetent and arrogant. The GC process is so horrible that employees are praying that US Congress pass the immigration reform than getting it done through the immigration team.
First the immigration team takes atleast 4 years before they can start your process..from personal experience, they took 4 months to review a 10 line job description. Current situation is the same. They cannot pass job market from peoria, decatur and will not notify you till you are 1 or 2 months away from your capout date. Once that happens they come to your manager to tell him that we cannot do anything..you have to do something...and the employee is LAID OFF. Many immigrants are running away from CATERPILLAR. There is no hope for current immigrants either.
IF YOU ARE IMMIGRANT..PLSE DONOT JOIN CAT.
