Overview

Update(5/19/26): In fiscal year 2026, Virtusa filed 253 LCAs for H-1B visas, 43 labor petitions for green cards, and 184 requests for prevailing wage determination.

Important Update(12/16/2025): We’ve recently added H-1B visa approval and denial history from USCIS(2017–2025) and H-1B visa petition locations to provide a more complete view of employment-based immigration. Previously, our data included only Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) certified by the U.S. Department of Labor.
For example, in fiscal year 2025, Virtusa filed 580 Form I-129 petitions for H-1B visas. Of these, 564 were approved and 16 were denied.

Number of Employees: 1,780
Founded: 1996 - Main Office: Southborough, MA - NAICS Industry: Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services
H-1B Dependent: Yes - Willfull Violator: No

Virtusa Corporation filed 744 labor condition applications (LCAs) for H-1B visas and 105 labor certifications (LCs) for green cards during fiscal year 2025. Virtusa was ranked number 86 among all visa sponsors. Additionally, 65 LCAs and 12 LCs were denied or withdrawn during the same period.

Before Virtusa can hire foreign workers, whether permanently or temporarily, it must submit labor certifications to the Department of Labor (DOL). These certifications confirm compliance with wage requirements for the specified job locations. The reports below summarize Labor Condition Applications (LCA) for H-1B visas and Labor Certifications (LC) for green cards filed by Virtusa. This data represents only the number of applications submitted and does not guarantee visa approvals or worker hires.

The LCA data includes applications for various purposes: new employment, continuation or changes to previously approved employment, new concurrent employment, changes in employer, and amended petitions. Typically, only LCAs for new employment require an H-1B visa cap if the employer is not cap-exempt.For example, Virtusa submitted 1,260 LCAs and LCs during fiscal year 2025. However, this figure does not necessarily reflect the number of foreign workers hired, as visa applications can be denied. Additionally, employees renewing or transferring H-1B visas or changing work locations may need to file new LCAs.

The DOL generally certifies more than three times the number of foreign worker requests compared to the H-1B visas issued by USCIS. Therefore, there is no direct correlation between the number of workers certified by the DOL and the H-1B visas issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

* Why are the numbers different? LCAs are a prerequisite to filing H-1B visa petitions, but not all certified LCAs lead to actual H-1B filings. Similarly, one LCA can support multiple visa petitions (e.g., for extensions, amendments, or changes in employer). Therefore, visa totals may differ significantly from LCA totals.
Moreover, employers sometimes use different names when submitting LCAs and H-1B visa petitions. This can cause discrepancies in our system. To get a complete and accurate picture, please use the search function to explore both LCA and visa data.
Total H-1B includes all types of visa petitions: new employment, continuation, change of employer, as well as other actions not listed in the table, such as concurrent filings and amendments.

I had same issues with above reviews - i worked as a contractor with this company - doesn't have any basic ethics or professionalism in dealing with clients - people who get contracts are like vegetable vendors

i still have issues in payment for my contract - do not work with this company as a contractor too - very poor standards of doing business and never responsive

HR is doesn't know her job is or how to communicate - overall Horrible company to work for in IT

★☆☆☆☆ - The WORST HR personnel in the Corporate World - - - 10/9/2015 - flag as inappropriate - comment
The Business teams are brilliant, very exciting and thought stimulating rounds of interviews, including time-bound assignments to test your mettle and ability to handle pressure.

They liked me, they offered me the job. But, I could not join, as the HR wanted to cover up their mistakes.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THE UNSCRUPULOUS RECRUITERS AND MALICIOUS HR PROCESS where the HR changes their versions of the scheme of events as they fancy.

I'd like to share my bitter experience with the company's HR team in Hyderabad and the way the process was handled. It is unheard of with any company and I'm shocked that a reputed organization like Virtusa would do this. The following events transpired.

1. I cleared all 5 rounds of interview and reached the salary negotiation stage.

2. A lower-than-expected CTC figure was quoted by the HR. I accepted it because of the interesting and promising nature of role. Therefore, the amount(Say, Rs. X lakhs) was AGREED UPON by both parties.

3. The very next day, the HR calls to say the CTC has to be reduced to Rs.(X-1) lakhs due to some internal issue. I'm shocked as they have conveniently changed the number which THEY THEMSELVES HAD QUOTED AND AGREED TO .

4. I struggle, ask them to reconsider. They don't budge, so I accept the offer. They explicitly mention the fixed and variable component split percentage . I accept because I genuinely liked the team and the role.(Note that no email communication about the remuneration was received until this point.)

5. I receive the offer letter 16 hours before the joining time . THE FIXED AMOUNT IS LOWER THAN WHAT WAS EXPLICITLY MENTIONED. I email, pose queries, no response.

6. 11 hours before joining, I get through to the Recruiter. She says "May be human error". I request her to reconsider, as this would be lower than the salary of my last job! I send an email with the same information. No offer letter was signed.

7. On the joining date, I speak to the recruiter again to reconsider. She said "I'll see what can be done". I wait. The ball is in their court, I expect them to get back.

8. I RECEIVE AN EMAIL A FEW DAYS LATER SAYING THE COMPANY CANNOT GO AHEAD WITH MY OFFER!

After having been CONFIRMED joining, after the entire process, my offer was WITHDRAWN by the HR.

Reason? "Candidate has attitude issues".

Upon talking to the HR manager, I was called a liar and was told that I agreed to the final figure but didn't join.(I still fail to see the logic. I liked the job, I accepted lower offer once. Didn't accept the second undeserved revision. Where, then, is my acceptance?). Why would anyone in their right mind do that?

Please, tell me, have you seen or heard of such an incident before?

★☆☆☆☆ - Worst Company in Planet - - - 7/4/2012 - flag as inappropriate - comment
They are the Worst Company in Planet . They treat employees as slaves .employees have complained to labor dept for unpaid Wages .It looks like everything is going wrong with Virtusa .Client Payment issues .Employee Payment issues. One thing they are good though they have good lawyer. They have lot of Green Card Application forms being rejected because of lot of issues with the govt.

I think this would be next sat yam.

Best Of Luck if You are going to Join this company.
