I was working on 2 cylinder diesel engine design and development which has got Genset and light passenger / transport vehicle application. Basically I was leading the project on the whole
Subsystems Designed in current organization so far: Air intake System: I have worked on Air Intake system design which involved engine air flow requirement calculations (CFM calculations & pressure drop across the filter) and suitable air filter design/selection. Engine Timing System: It involved the camshaft lobe angle/position calculations (camshaft design), gear marking position calculations to synchronize the valves, fuel pump, oil pump, crankshaft timings. Engine Cooling System: Engine is Oil cooled and oil is circulated into the oil galleries in cylinder head and crankcase by oil pump .I am working on design of oil cooler & oil cooler blower fan design and evaluation. Various data has been captured on test bed to calculate the heat removed from the oil cooler and conclusion is to go for larger oil capacity oil cooler. Crankshaft Design Verification for Turbocharged engine: Current Engine is Naturally Aspirated and we are exploring to enhance the engine power by Turbo-charging. I went thru design calculations to check the stress levels at the critical locations on the crankshaft.--

Worked for design & development of Locomotive Engine Cooling
Worked for design & development of Locomotive Engine Cooling system since 15th Sep 08. It involved defining the cooling strategy of the engine at customer specific ambient condition & loading of the engine at various notch points then accordingly cooling model is developed. During my tenure in GE worked for design and development of Wind Turbine Gearbox housing (CI) also, which involved detailed FEA analysis (structural analysis) of the housing. Analysis is done for the bearing bore to see the behavior of bore under gearbox loading condition and in case of deformation values cross the limit, design is improved. Similarly housing is validated for Von Mises Stress and factor of safety is compared. At the end casting and machining drawing is released. Also I have designed all bolts of the gear box, which are under bending and shear load along with pre tension--
