As a Tech Lead in Tata Consultancy Services I'm part of the team that provides an American financial institution with high quality software.
We use Java EE, JMS, SOAP web services to develop a Middleware API in charge of processing requests to a vendor application which performs money transactions. The methodologies we use include Scrum and SAFe. Every quarter we also get the chance to take part in innovation projects where we've so far used REST web services along with the technologies mentioned above. These projects allow us to provide ideas that look for new business opportunities or improve our productivity.--

As pat of the Science Informatics Unit I was in charge of providing software solutions for scientists working on wheat projects.
While I worked for CIMMYT I was responsible for providing solutions for the Global Wheat Program, including java web applications, distributed relational databases. The unit faced several challenges including outdated databases in offices across different continents, users weren't aware of the services we could provide and technological platforms urgently needed updating. The position required me to facilitate IT decisions, whether to develop in-house or buy existing software. After the choice was made I had to ensure the software fulfilled functional requirements, met best practices, was technically feasible, and guided users to perform acceptance testing. Java, MySQL and Open Source solutions were the strategically preferred by the unit when choosing potential services.--

A different set of responsibilities included managing the configuration changes to the production servers, for which change and configuration management processes were analyzed in order to apply best practices and tools to do a better job.--
