She chose immigration because she knew that this was an extremely complicated area of law where she could use her personal experiences and her fluency in Spanish to make a real difference in the lives of her clients. During her time at OCU, Deborah participated in OCU's Immigration Law Clinic, interned at Catholic Charities in Oklahoma City, and represented OCU Law in the American Constitution Society Moot Court Competition. She also served as a Student Ambassador, as Vice-President of the Immigration Law Association, and as Treasurer of the Lesbian and Gay Law Student Association - a position which ignited a passion for p.
