Every employee should be doing what is right for the company, not what is right for him/her.
Top management has ZERO knowledge about Online Marketing, they hired me. (8+ yrs experience in Online Marketing as a Digital Marketing Manager).

Tredent, Riverbed, Cisco and F5 are some of the TOP competitors for the company. These competitors have tons of backlinks to their websites. Aryaka networks needed a strong backlinks strategy, both paid and non-paid. The company was not ready to shell out even $100 USD for backlinks, they just bought a few SEO monitoring tools, submitted their website to a few authoritative directories and expected me to get the rankings magically, where the competitors were building links day-in and day-out.

The company never let me do the right things, they never trust their employees. "Hyper-Micro Managing" would be the right word for the company, though I' am not sure if the word exists in the Dictionary.

You should give them an advance notice of 2 weeks if you want to leave a few hours early from the office for whatever reasons.

Do you have a family? a girl friend? health problem? any other personal problem? THEY GIVE A DAMN ABOUT IT.

I took 3 days off during Diwali (2011) and went to my home town. Unfortunately, my cousin expired and I had to extend my leaves to 4 days. When I go to the office on the 5th day, my reporting manager (VP of the company) takes me to the discussion room and tells me on my face, "it was just a cousin! You can't take 4 days off for that! Well, if it was your parents, brother/sisters who had died, I wouldn't have said anything to you". This is how professional they are, and this is exactly the way everyone is treated in there!

In the span of 4-5 months, 3 employees who come from one of the TOP B-Schools (International School of Business, ISB Hyderabad) quit this company. I' am not sure why they quit, but that definitely gives you some hint about a company!

There was this instance when I had to travel to my home town. I had informed my reporting manager about my travel plans: 2 days in advance. I get a call from the USA office when I was in the moving train and they asked me to get down from the train and come back to the office at any cost as there was some emergency, some thing which should be taken care of right way. I can't believe I got down from the train from the city outskirts and travelled back to the office to take care of the emergency.

Once the work was done, the company didn't even refund the taxi fee, my train fee and also didn't bother to make any alternate arrangements for my travel that night. That was seriously CHEAP!

That very night I wrote a long email to the CEO with these issues, and guess what? He just ignored the email and things were the same.

Also, that was the night I updated my resume and posted it on Naukri and Monster.

One of the TOP managers in the company told me that the company hired me to improve their rankings for the keyword "WAN Optimization", and once they get to the TOP, they would FIRE me!

I want to thank Riverbed, Tredent, Cisco, F5, and all the TOP competitors who shell thousands of dollars on Internet Marketing every month. It is because of you guys Aryaka Networks is still not in TOP 5, and they would never get there till they follow your foot steps as far as online marketing is concerned. And, as ARYAKA was unable to afford a solid backlinking campaign, they thought I was inefficient. So, I quit before they could FIRE me! LOLzz

I can go on and on, probably write an award winning book on office politics & inefficient TOP management.
